Ipsy Review December 2012

Ipsy, formerly called MyGlam, is a great pick for a beauty sub going into 2013 for three main reasons. First, it's cheap: $10 per month, so it can fit into any beauty lover's budget! Next, it's always creative, fresh, and innovative in the way it brings new makeup and beauty products to our attention. Makeup artist Michelle Phan started the company with the idea of sharing her love of makeup, and she has succeeded beautifully thus far! Finally, the bags: Maybe it's a bit frivolous, but presentation really is everything. Each month your five makeup or body care items come packed into an adorable little makeup bag.

 The bags change every month -- the shimmery silver bag above was sent out in December 2012. Ipsy subscribers end up with a lovely collection of bags to keep or to use as an elegant gift presentation for the future. Ipsy has included brands like Urban Decay, Josie Maran, Mirabella, Mai Couture, NYX, SoHo brushes, and Nailtini in recent bags, and the bags generally have a retail value of anywhere from $30 to $80 -- quite a nice return for 10 bucks!
