Carnivore Club Review + Coupon Code for $10 Off

The Carnivore Club is a new subscription box for meat lovers! Once I heard about this box I was rather fascinated because I know of so many guys who would love this box. As it turned out, not only did the guys enjoy it but I really did too!

The Carnivore Club box is $50/month. Each box contains 4 to 6 different selections of unique charcuterie, exotic terrines and  jerky from artisans all over the world. Additionally, each box comes with a "Meat Eater's Handbook," which gives carnivores detailed descriptions of each featured product and gives suggestions about how to best enjoy this high end charcuterie.

The focus with Carnivore Club is on finding the exotic, the unusual, the type of things you just can't procure at grocery stores or butcher shops.

Delicious plate with some of the selections from Carnivore Club!
Nduja Salami (in the middle): A difficult to find exotic salami with a spreadable consistency. The Nduja has hispanic influences in the form of chipotle and bell peppers. Nduja is hung in a cellar for two months, then cold smoked every other week as it ages. A very unique taste and we particularly liked the consistency: It can be spread easily on crackers, etc! Dirty Martini Salami (at the top): This is a lamb based salami that has strong juniper influences and hints of citrus, ginger, and cinnamon. There is no real liquor in this, but it still manages to convey a nice hint of that dirty martini taste! This is a hard salami that was really great with sharp cheddar. Moroccan Lamb Coppa (top right): To make these delectable thin slices of lamb shoulder, the meat is cured for three weeks then rubbed with north African spices (tumeric, aleppo peppers, caraway, and cumin.) The meat is then aged for another three to four months. This melt in your mouth lamb is the most delicious I've ever tasted! It definitely tasted more exotic than any lamb I've ever had and we loved it. Duck Jerky Sticks (bottom right): These are the most unique and delicious jerky! The duck jerky is made from organic muscovy duck. The duck is minced repeatedly and then stuffed into a lamb casing. They are aged for at least several weeks. Every duck jerky stick was made individually by hand so we did really savor these.
Pancetta Americano: This is a hybrid of Italian pancetta and American bacon, making something really unique. This was definitely a unique taste that is hard to characterize. For me personally it was a bit on the salty side but my two friends that shared it with me loved it. This is made using locally sourced Canadian pork belly which is cured in sea salt and traditional Pancetta spices (black pepper, thyme, nutmeg.) During curing brown sugar is added to sweeten the taste a bit. Finally, the Pancetta Americano is hung in the cellar for six weeks and then cold smoked over hickory wood for eight hours.
If you are looking for a unique gift for any guy, any foodie, or anyone who loves the unusual and exotic I think this would be a really fun gift. It makes me think of those steak delivery boxes, but on a much higher end level!
