Today's
Barkbox review is going to be a combo review and giveaway since we have a three month free Barkbox subscription just waiting for one lucky pet! BarkBox was the first of the pet subscription services, and it is still
the most popular. This box full of doggie fun arrives once a
month and gives both you and your pups a thrill! The box is $29 per
month if you choose the month to month option, $23 monthly if you get
the 3-month subscription, and just $18 per month if you get the 6-month
subscription. Additionally, you can apply the coupon code at the bottom
of this article to get an extra $5 off your first month!
You will select your dog size first: Small & Cute (0-20 lbs), Just
Right (20-50 lbs), and Big & Bold (50 plus lbs). The box you see
here is for the Big & Bold (my dogs Jade is in the 60 - 70
lb range.)
 |
| Wagatha's Organic Dog Biscuits in Tuscan Pizza (8 oz box, retail $6): Jade really likes Wagatha's biscuits a lot and I have yet to find a flavor she won't eat with great enthusiasm. She generally tends to enjoy savory treats more than sweet ones so I was really glad to see the Tuscan Pizza flavor. These went very fast because we shared them with my sister's pup. Well, because of that and the fact that none of the humans can say no to the pitiful begging doggie faces. |
 |
| Superior Farms Venison Nik Knacks (retail $3.99): This is a venison ear that is similar in toughness to a pigs ear, but it seems to be much chewier. Jade prefers this to pig ear type treats as she carried this around from room to room for a few days, gnawing it a bit at a time. I must assume this means that venison ears are more delicious than pigs ears! I'd say she enjoyed it but was not overwhelmed by it. |
 |
| Barkworthies Beef Tendon (retail $10.60): This is a free range grass fed chew that is similar to a bully stick in shape and consistency. These are said to be a chewier treat than the bully stick, and it did keep Jade amused for about an hour as she really savored it. Big hit! |
 |
| IQ Treat Ball (5 inch size, retail $11.99): This is a puzzle toy that Jade had a blast with! Inside the slot you fit dog treats, and then the dog has to roll the ball around to figure out how to get the treat to come out of the slot and then out of the opening in the ball. The slot can be adjusted so you can change the difficulty level in case your pet figures it out really quickly. It took Jade a little while and it kept her really engaged. It was adorable watching her push this toy all around with her nose, watching to see if she could get those treats out! |
 |
| The IQ treat ball just unscrews in the middle so you can slot treats in and put back together. |
 |
Etta Says Crunchy Deer Chew (7 inch chew, $1.99 retail): This was certainly another big hit with Jade but this one went much faster than the other chews. This is a crunchy chew that has some flakiness to it, and it is easy for the dog to actually eat it rather than have to chew a lot. Took Jade around 5 minutes, but she was in heaven for those 5 minutes. I believe this was her favorite treat of the box out of the chews.
|
 |
| VetraCare Pet Liquid Bandage
(2 oz, retail $8.95): Any dog owner knows what it's like to deal with
scratches, cuts, and scrapes on their pet. Greyhound owners really deal
with this a lot as our pups have tissue thin skin, so I was very happy
to get this. It provides a liquid bandage that still lets the skin
breathe and protects the wound from bacteria. The formula is alcohol
free, so it doesn't sting! |
We love BarkBox here and I'd recommend it to anyone who is really concerned about feeding their dog healthy and safe treats since BarkBox is highly focused on organic, healthy, non-toxic goodies and toys. If you'd like to try it out, you can grab a $5 discount on your subscription with the code
